How to use a UAV tower in Hajin
Activate a UAV tower to complete a Side Op, earn DMZ Cash and send out a scan that shows nearby enemy forces and rival Operators. Check the Tac-Map for an active tower during your current deployment and approach with cover. Enemy forces commonly guard the tower.
Read the scan before committing to the next crossing or fighting for an objective. If the route shows nearby Operators, you can wait, take cover or change the approach before they spot your squad.
Which UAV towers can spawn after the November 2 patch?
The November 2 update randomized tower locations and reduced the number of towers by 40%. Most points of interest can have no tower, and an area no longer spawns several. Deadtown is the exception because its tower is required for DMZ Order progression.
The same patch increased Sedative Inhaler duration from 60 to 120 seconds. Infinity Ward said it still failed to hide players from towers activated by enemy Operators with the UAV Upgrade Trait at the time. Check the current patch notes and your Tac-Map before relying on it.
How to capture a SAM site and use it against aircraft
Interact with the control computer at the SAM site. The alarm can draw nearby forces, so defend the site until the hack completes. The captured battery automatically targets hostile aircraft, including Deathstalkers. Enemy forces can retake the site if you move too far away.
Choose the SAM Side Op when enemy air pressure makes the position valuable and you have time to hold it. Pick a UAV tower instead when you mainly need to check for enemy movement before crossing exposed ground.
